Sunday 9 October 2011

easy like a sunday morning

Sunday are my massive lazy day! I finished work at half 2 last night, sat about for a bit and then went to McDonalds with the boys as usual. It was Adams last Saturday shift last night :( he leaves on Friday and I'm so sad about it waaaaaah. He's like my security blanket that boy, I know I'll still see him obviously but no-one else at work goes on like we do. We're planning a massive massive leaving do for him, we're going paint balling and having a night out Ebony style. (gunna do a lil photo spam of him after this.)

Tonight I'm going to the big Jug pub quiz (Ebonys karaoke spot) with Anna, Libby, Olly, Adam and Charlie; I'm hoping they have a prize for "people who tried the hardest" because that'll be us. Then tomorrow night it's Houghton Feast's fireworks and I'm hoping to get everyone down and then go to the feast after.
For now it's watching The Simpsons, waiting for my mam to cook the curry  and slobbing about x

Warrior

Anna and I went to see this last night, initially we only went to see it for the men on the poster. Tom Hardy, what a BABE. Turned out to be on of the best movies i have seen this year.

The youngest son (Hardy) of an alcoholic former boxer (Nolte) returns home, where he's trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament -- a path that puts the fighter on a collision corner with his older brother (Edgerton).

It takes a while to get into and you get confused a little at the beginning but it has one of the most emotional stories i have seen in a fighting film.
Two brothers face the fight of a lifetime - and the wreckage of their broken family - within the brutal, high-stakes world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). An ex-Marine haunted by a tragic past, Tommy Riordan returns to his hometown of Pittsburgh and enlists his father, a recovered alcoholic and his former coach, to train him for an MMA tournament awarding the biggest purse in the history of the sport. As Tommy blazes a violent path towards the title prize, his brother, Brendan, a former MMA fighter unable to make ends meet as a public school teacher, returns to the amateur ring to provide for his family. Even though years have passed, recriminations and past betrayals keep Brendan bitterly estranged from both Tommy and his father. But when Brendan's unlikely rise as an underdog sets him on a collision course with Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront the forces that tore them apart, all the while waging the most intense, winner-takes-all battle of their lives.
I didn't think I would get upset over it but by the end me and Anna were in absolute tears.
If you like a good action movie I would definitely suggest you see this. It's so fist clenching watching the fights, it makes you so intact with the characters you want to shout for them and cry when they get hurt.
